Negotiation & inspection checklist
2016 BMW 650i xDrive Gran Coupé 450hk | M Sport | H/K | Pano | Värm
Bring this along to a viewing — it's a starting point, not a substitute for an in-person inspection by a qualified mechanic.
Suggested opening offer
300,000–320,000 SEK
Questions to ask the seller
- Can you show Transportstyrelsen's "Fordonets skulder" (vehicle debt) service, or otherwise confirm there is no outstanding vehicle tax, congestion charge, or parking-fine debt tied to this vehicle? Unpaid vehicle debt transfers to the new owner in Sweden, not the previous one, and can lead to Kronofogden seizing the car.
- Can you provide an official Transportstyrelsen vehicle extract (registreringsbevis/fordonsuppgifter) to confirm ownership and odometer history?
- Please supply original service invoices that match the service entries listed in the ad (the dealer claims only BMW-authorized workshops).
- Is the 450 hp figure a factory-fitted facelift motor or an aftermarket remap/upgrade? Provide documentation (factory build sheet or workshop invoice/dyno if aftermarket).
- Show any insurance-repair invoices or a claim history and the most recent besiktning records.
- Have any air-suspension components been replaced or serviced? Provide receipts if available.
What to check in person
- Never pay a deposit or the full price before you've seen and test-driven the car in person — be wary of pressure to decide immediately ("today only" pricing), or a seller who avoids meeting or an independent inspection.
- Pay by bank transfer or Swish, never cash to someone you haven't met or verified, and complete the registered ownership transfer (ägarbyte) digitally at handover rather than leaving it for later.
- Compare odometer reading and the service-book entries/invoices for consistency.
- Road-test all adaptive drive modes and check for air-suspension sag/noise and compressor cycling.
- Perform a full diagnostic scan for stored fault codes (engine, transmission, adaptive systems, airbags, ABS).
- Check for oil leaks, turbo smoke on startup/acceleration, and unusual noises from the drivetrain.
- Inspect tyre condition, wheel alignment and brake-pad/rotor wear (measure remaining thickness).
- Verify operation of high-tech features (HUD, backup camera, adaptive LED, parking sensors, keyless entry).
