Can you show Transportstyrelsen's "Fordonets skulder" (vehicle debt) service, or otherwise confirm there is no outstanding vehicle tax, congestion charge, or parking-fine debt tied to this vehicle? Unpaid vehicle debt transfers to the new owner in Sweden, not the previous one, and can lead to Kronofogden seizing the car.
Can you provide the registration certificate (registreringsbevis) and the full stamped service book or itemised service receipts for verification?
Has the chassis/VIN been checked against Volvo’s recall lookup and Transportstyrelsen? If so, provide proof or workshop receipts for applied recall fixes.
Please send close-up photos of all rusted areas (wheel arches, sills, boot floor and underbody) and any receipts for prior bodywork.
Can you provide receipts for the recent brake work (front pads and right-front caliper) and state who performed the work?
Are there any current warning lights (engine/ABS/airbag) or known intermittent faults (DPF/turbo/gearbox)?

Never pay a deposit or the full price before you've seen and test-driven the car in person — be wary of pressure to decide immediately ("today only" pricing), or a seller who avoids meeting or an independent inspection.
Pay by bank transfer or Swish, never cash to someone you haven't met or verified, and complete the registered ownership transfer (ägarbyte) digitally at handover rather than leaving it for later.
Verify VIN on the car and run a Volvo/Transportstyrelsen recall and ownership check.
Bring the stamped service book and compare mileage stamps to the odometer (check for gaps or inconsistent jumps).
Inspect rusted areas closely (lift carpets/boot mat if needed, check wheel arches, sills and underbody) and get a bodyshop opinion if corrosion looks deeper than surface.
Test-drive: check automatic gearbox for smooth shifts, listen for turbo whine, watch for smoke on acceleration, and test DPF regeneration behaviour.
Check brakes and parking brake operation; confirm recent front-pad/caliper work with receipts and inspect discs for wear/warping.
Scan the car with an OBD tool for stored fault codes related to turbo, DPF, gearbox and ABS.
